Join the crowdfunding for the 6 of La Suiza!
5 female workers and 1 male worker have been sentenced to prison for defending the labour rights of a coworker through the union and resorting only to legal trade union means. Faced with the prospect of prison time, they now need our support!
That’s why the union CNT, with the collaboration of the group Sofitu a las 6 de La Suiza Group, a coalition of social collectives and individuals, have started this crowdfunding.
We aim to raise enough money to support the comrades’ needs while in prison, help to cover their kids’ expenses while the comrades can’t work as well as to avoid evictions of their dependants during this time.
But we also think of it as a means of protesting this repression.
The laws of the country must be overhauled to prevent other workers from being sent to prison for demanding their labour rights.
Defending you labour rights IS NOT A CRIME, and the comrades are not guilty of any of the alleged crimes they are being sent to prison for.
Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign
With your help, we aim to cover:
- Fines: the comrades have been heavily and unfairly fined by the Spanish Supreme Court, one of the top tribunals in the land.
- Their prison expenses: this will cover their basic needs while in prison.
- Legal expenses: the fight for justice is not over! Legal proceedings must go on.
- Kids and dependants’ expenses: their families must be looked after in this harrowing times!

This campaign is promoted by the nationwide union CNT, with the collaboration of the group Sofitu a las 6 de La Suiza, and it brings together comrades and relatives of the six workers together with civic organisations in their region in northern Spain, Asturies.

This crowdfunding is being launched to cover the legal, prison and care costs of the women convicted in the La Suiza case. Because 5 supportive women and 1 worker were sentenced to prison for defending the labour rights of a colleague, using only legal union tools.
