Mohammed "X" and his family, are one of the thousands of families which have suffered from the eviction and continuous displacement in the genocide in Gaza, now living in a tent separated from his wife and kids, they have achieved to survive these last 20 months, suffering the destruction of his house and loss of all his belongings, his oldest has been injured in one of the bombings, and even so, Mohammed risks his life daily to look for food and see them. He is in charge of one of the refugee camps, where over 210 families live in tents.
This artwork demonstrates the before and after of the reality of thousands of palestinians in Gaza, where full families have been separated and bombed, he allowed me to portray his, with the scenes of destruction of Gaza in the background, houses where families once lived and built a life, mosques, schools, hospitals, etc, all reduced to a memory.
Even so in these last 20 months we have been witnesses to the immense strength and mental and spiritual resilience the palestinians posess, trusting in a higher power which will establish the justice that is decades overdue, where in spite of all the pain the phrase heard in every video is: Subhanallah (God is perfect).
